About Our Chapter
Our Families
We are currently growing our team of volunteers across Chelan and Douglas Counties. Volunteers serve a variety of roles including hosting children or providing services such as transportation, parent mentoring, and supply tangible items such as diapers, car seats, and meals.
Our Churches
Churches through out the Wenatchee Valley play a significant role in recruiting volunteers from their church family. They are integral to supporting those families as they serve and reach out to families in need. Churches of all sizes can join our team. We have several local churches who are stepping up to become part of our network.
Our Team
Our churches and volunteer families are the driving force behind the Safe Families movement and the ones who make the biggest difference in our community, with the help of our Safe Families team leaders. Our team leaders are passionate about investing their lives in engaging churches, building a base of volunteers, helping children, educating & supporting our families, and training and vetting our volunteers.

Sherry Mott-Chapter Director
Sherry Mott serves as our Chapter Director, overseeing program management, outreach, and area development. She has lived in the Wenatchee Valley for over 35 years. Sherry and her husband Ed have been married for 30 years and they have four children. They are licensed with the state of Washington as a foster home and Sherry has served as a CASA with Chelan-Douglas CASA. Sherry’s background is in business, supervision and management. Her passion for supporting people who are walking through hard things motivated her, with the help of family and friends, to launch Safe Families in Central Washington in December of 2022. She has volunteered in all the Safe Families roles but especially enjoys serving as a family coach and providing a host home for kids who need a soft place to land. Sherry strongly believes in the power of community, and the idea that connection and healthy relationships can change the trajectory of lives for isolated people in crisis.
